Student Counselor
Job Description:
At ISM, we are a leading institute of professional studies in business management in the Middle East. We are looking to hire an experienced student counsellor to help with our growing popularity with prospective students.
Once appointed you’ll work as part of a bigger team and use joint effort to achieve the ultimate aim of providing our students with the highest quality professional education. Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of the coursework of students.
- Plan regular meetings with advisees.
- Constantly update your knowledge of the changing paths leading to degree attainment relevant to different levels of education and disciplines.
- Support students during course registration by providing guidance and counselling.
- Counsel students that experience challenges with their course works or dealing with difficult personal issues to find solutions that facilitate degree completion.
- Make written documentation readily available when called upon.
- Provide different department districts, or schools with necessary documents upon request.
- Adequately communicate the expected grades and academic performance necessary to graduate from ISM programmes.
Qualifications:
- Completed formal education in counselling or degree in education
- Relevant former experience in similar position, at least 2 years
- Ability to multitask and handle several caseloads
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to remain motivated and work with little or no supervision
- Excellent listening skills
- Computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
